There’s always room for one more crossover SUV, especially
when it’s clearly a step up from its predecessor, and brings a lot more new
features to the table. Take for example the 2016 Nissan Rogue.
Overall Impression
The 2.5-liter four-cylinder vehicle features a continuously
variable transmission (CVT), 170 horsepower, electric power steering,
all-independent suspension, and Active Ride Control, which is in charge of
directing the CVT and engine response. Meanwhile, the Active Trace Control
provides assists in making those difficult, sharp turns by torque adjustment
inside the wheel, or brake application.
Fuel economy gets particularly high marks, for its EPA-rated
33 mpg on the highway, while the 28 mpg combined of the front or AWD Rogue
versions is also said to be a delectable option all on its own.
Technology and
Embellishments
Nowadays, cabin comfort does not just refer to the
upholstery or the height and legroom. A lot of the conveniences that consumers
look for have something to do with connectivity. It’s no wonder then that
Nissan has joined in on the fun with NissanConnect, a software that can
activate smartphones apps such as Pandora, among many others.
Trim Models and
Features
At the very least, with the base Rogue S model, you’ll have
power surrounding you quite literally - from the locks to the windows, and even
the mirrors. The usual crew of entertainment is here, too, with radio/CD
player, USB port, and Bluetooth with audio streaming. Meanwhile, the SV trim
level adds some more power to the power driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic
climate control, NissanConnect, and keyless ignition.
If you want to upgrade your entertainment center further
(because you simply cannot have too much entertainment in your 2016 Rogue), you
can get the Bose audio with the SL trim level. This will also get you the
surround-view camera, leather upholstery, navigation, power tailgate, and
heated front seats for maximum comfort.
